We have just heard that NOAA will provide funding for the NOAA-NCAR Developmental Testbed Center (DTC) for three years to support NOAA and NCAR's involvement in MUMIP. In addition to completing the standardised experiments using the coarse-grained ICON DYAMOND data, they will run the DTC Common Community Physics Package SCM over a coarse-grained 3-km simulation from the NOAA Unified Forecast System model, providing a valuable sensitivity test of the dependence of our results on the high-resolution benchmark.
