Xia Sun works on the Unified Forecast System (UFS) Weather Models and the Common Community Physics Package (CCPP). Xia is interested in topics aiming at improving the forecasting of high-impact weather events and air quality. Specifically, she has research experiences in land-atmosphere interactions, boundary layer structures, atmospheric composition, and wildfire smoke exposure assessment.
